From 9th-10th of August, Africa Fashion Week London brought together thousands of guests to celebrate the beauty and diversity of African fashion and African people. Their biggest show yet, #AFWL2019 featured musical performances, guest appearances, exhibitions, panel discussions, and five explosive fashion shows, spread across the two-day festival.
Dozens of African countries were represented at Freemansons’ Hall over the weekend, with designers showcasing from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Guinea-Bissau and beyond. Special guest performer, Shingai, seduced the crowd with her stunning voice and energy-filled performance. Temi Otedola, Shewa Jay, Kunle Afolayan, Kelechi Anyikude, DJ Cuppy, Smade and Kelechi Amadi-Obi were just a few of the other celebrities who stepped out for AFWL, donning a wide array of Afro-inspired looks.
