Taken – Moliy
Moliy sings like someone whispering a pleasant secret into the ears of another. Her tiny voice releases melodies in a suspiciously soothing manner and her lyrics enhance the music experience that comes with her songs. In this song, Moliy expresses the beauty of commitment in her love life. She repeatedly sang “I’m taken” announcing to the listeners that she is off-market. She seems to be happy by that and it is this same euphoric feeling that comes with the song.
In a loop – Boj ft Moliy & Melissa
BOJ released one of the best albums in the country this year. This track is one of the extraordinary tracks that stood out on the album. it is a perfect matrimony between subtle groove and sweet-sounding melodies. BOJ opened the song with his usual story-telling style rap, Moliy and Melissa handled the hook that stays stuck in the listners’ head. The situation the song is about is a little messy but it just makes the song better.
For Here – Terri
Fast-rising superstar, Terri has one of the hits in the country with this tune. The song’s beat is matrimony between Amapiano and regular Afropop beat.. Teri serenades his love interest over the beat in a way that makes you want to dance. The song is a 10/10 smash hit.
Kolomental – Victony
Victony keeps churning out music that cements his place as one of the potential greats in the Nigerian music industry. His unique vocals, pen-game, and sweet melodies put him ahead of most of his peers. In this song, he sings about his present mental state as an artist. He prays for clarity as he navigates life going forward. He acknowledges the mental burden that comes with what he does and what he is trying to do. Yet, we can hear the strength embedded in his voice and lyrics.
Two Horns – Alpha Ojini ft Boogey, Kel & A-Q
This song is for the rap lovers and it bangs like the door behind an angry man. The trio on this song showed that the rap culture is very much alive and enriched in Nigeria. The song is mostly about their prowess and repute but it has a way of making the listeners feel elevated and powerful too.
