Rotimi “Rotex” Omotayo-Ojo is a Nigerian Alternative music Artist. He grew up in Lagos, spending his adolescent years in the northern part of Nigeria, schooling in Abuja, Jos and later Osun State, the multi-tribal influences can be felt in how different and unique his songwriting is.
Performing with bands like the “One band like That (OBLT)”, “The GingerBread Band”, “The Veterans” and his own band, Rotex has been able to bring fresh, interesting, original vibe to listeners, fans and lovers of original music, live or digital.
From opening for acts like Davido, SolidStar, and VectorthaViper, to performing at 5 venues/cities (Epe, Badagry, Ikorodu, Agege, and Eko Atlantic), Rotex has been spreading his vibe to a following that will only continue to get bigger.
His most recent music comprises of “Energy”, ”Kumbaye” with LA –Lebanon based producer, Offrami, ”Flashlight”, a collaborative project with the UK-based Danish Producer BurtyBeats, to name a few, plus a 2019 feature on the Nigerian Hip-hop duo ShowDemCamp’s “Clone Wars Vol. 4”
With a body of work set to be released (“Odd One Out”) by the beginning of the second quarter of 2020, releases of singles off the project and a House/Dance Music EP with VectorThaViper to be released in the third quarter of 2020, Rotex will be feeding listeners consistently with quality music.
