On Friday, the 22nd of April at Wèrè House, in the heart of Lekki, key members of the Nigerian fashion community were introduced to Pièce et Patch. This is a sustainable streetwear brand born out of the need to educate the youth on recycling and reducing carbon footprint as a contribution to protecting the planet.
This event-themed ‘The Reviviscent Uns’, was an exclusive display of the brand’s earliest upcycled pieces. These wares were made from a combination of different pre-used materials. No two pieces were similar. Each piece on display was specially tailored to fit the varying personalities and physiques of the models.
Multi-faceted Nigerian artist Wavythecreator creatively directed the electric showcase. The beautiful scenery was backed by specially curated futuristic sounds. Edgy and innovative clothes, hats and shoes made from materials like leather, metal rings, and denim scraps, are showcased. The models are young creatives like TG Omori, StyleSenami, Nelson Nonso, Zamir and more.
Speaking on the brand, Wavy says “We’re aiming to build a community to educate each other on the importance of protecting the planet and finding the best ways to transform items into new and creative ideas”
Pièce et Patch is set for a full launch later this year. It will be focused on creating innovative fashion pieces, to enhance the style of fashion in the Afro futuristic world. It also aims to provide optimal service to the fast-growing sustainable fashion community.
