Rising star Daṣo (pronounced day-show) is back with a song and video for his latest release
“Lekki”. Daṣo first popped on the scene earlier this year with his first single JARA, which
generated a buzz globally resulting in over 125k streams across platforms and over 10k
creations on Tik Tok in under six months. Now, the talented artist has released a new single best
described as a celebration of his personal journey and the neighborhood of Lekki, Lagos.
“Lekki” gives listeners a glimpse into Daṣo’s everyday life as he embraces growth. The
coming-of-age track celebrates how he has come into his own as a man who is confident in
himself, comfortable in his environment, and ready to fearlessly take the entertainment industry
by storm. Produced by XtremeTheProducer, the song features a unique blend of instruments,
including strings, flutes, and drums, to create a smooth and melodic sound best described as
Afropop.
The accompanying music video shot in Lagos in collaboration with director Zamani Istifanus and
cinematographer Mr. Movies, perfectly captures the vibrant spirit of the song and sheds light on
Daṣo’s fun-loving personality. It offers viewers an immersive visual experience, showcasing a
day in the life of the artist as he exudes confidence and charisma while asserting his readiness
to conquer the world. The video also features various recognizable spots around Lekki including
the Lekki-Ikoyi Bridge, aerial shots of Lekki Epe, and more. Daṣo proudly represents his
