Nigerian act joeyDECORUM releases catchy new EP ‘Radio Sound’
Radio Sound is the second project by young artist joeyDECORUM and was released on June 28. The EP consists of six alternative songs.
On Black Heart joeyDECORUM is at his core, as he creates a song he describes as dark, yet full of love. He gets the groove of the EP going on Black Hole. It’s a melodious number, that sees Joey experimenting around with an unfamiliar sound. On Gbedu, joeyDECORUM reassures that no matter the twists and turns he takes on his music journey, he will always supply good vibes.
On Shayo, he croons to create a song that speaks some of his fleeting satisfactions of life from his perspective: women and liquor. Shayo is sure to make the listener move. The theme on Illegally is unrequited love. He tells a story of two lovers fighting for each other even as life tries to keep them apart. So much that the love now feels illegal.
joeyDECORUM is influenced by a wide variety of acts; from Michael Jackson, DMX, Ludacris, Drake, Wizkid, SAINt JHN, D’Banj and Don Jazzy. Joey’s most popular releases are 2018 cuts ‘So Wavy’ and Rec001 FeaturingMyEx. In 2017, he opened at Wizkid’s Landmark concert. joeyDECORUM hopes the EP marks a transition for him; a new phase where he intends to make more impact on the music scene with his offerings.
