In what seems to be a daring genre-bending sonic adventure, Lex Ash blends R&B with a variety of Afro and Euro-centric sounds in On a hill, what he calls a musical journey through love, pain, and the perfect resolve of being alone. Lex Ash takes you on a rollercoaster but ends with a safe yet satisfying landing.
Released 31st of October, on all major music streaming platforms, “On a hill” promises a timeless experience. The first single, “One and Only”, sets the tone for the project’s exploration of emotions and growth. It already symbolized the direction of the project, and leading the pack for the rest of the songs, listeners can rest assured that the journey of this project is timeless and worth their ready ears.
Lex says in a recent Instagram post, “This has been a crazy journey for me. I’m so thankful to be here right now, putting this out. Even putting it out is a daring task, I’m somehow going against the tide with this one”. His life experiences have been a huge part of pulling these together. Lex infuses a plethora of musical devices and live instruments in the making of On a hill which he also is credited as a co-producer alongside Kordys Sheed and EDM genius, Sigag Lauren on the last song.
Lex Ash who has been nominated for the Future Award prize for photography and on many lists as one of Nigeria’s best creators brings his unique style of creating to his music and On a hill is yet another testament to his passion, diversity, and commitment to growth and creativity.
