Minz kicks off the year with his chart engulfing remix featuring BNXN and Blaqbonez.
From singing his truth to claiming top spots on the most coveted charts, Minz is on track with his pursuits as he bags his first chart-earning track, and it’s no small feat.
Successfully closing off 2022 following the release of ‘Wowo,’ Minz is back with a special offering. Releasing the remix to ‘Wowo,’ which is pidgin for ugly, he features breakout stars: BNXN and Blaqbonez as they reflect on their Odyssey, appreciating the rise and time in the industry. While coming to terms with and accepting to bear the weight of his journey, Minz uses his past to show the listeners it hasn’t been a smooth sail. The classical mellow production from French producer Mike Bgrz reflects Minz’s current state of mind as he gears up for the year.
Barely a week after its release, the Wowo remix sits on the No. 8 spot of the Apple Music Top 100 chart and is climbing. With an acoustic saxophone at the core, the head-bopping afro-pop number captures the inspirational agenda Minz is pushing to accomplish. Making an innate decision with the collaboration, BNXN, and Blaqbonez’s inclusion coincides with the struggle artists endure at times as a reflection of their international success.
The Nigerian artist and record producer, professionally known as Minz, was born Olúwadámilọ́lá Adédọlápọ̀ Amínù and took an interest in art from a young age who later found his passion and purpose in music. He started his musical journey as a teenage rapper and advanced into a producer while attending Babcock University. However, he intensified his research and gradually became the eclectic Afro-fusion artist he is today.
Speaking on the essence and direction of the ‘Wowo’ remix, Minz says;
“In this sober moment, I’m grateful to my maker for bringing me this far to where I can proudly say I have overcome. I do not take the blessings for granted, and I hope to inspire someone in an ugly place in their life so that they too can someday look back on these moments with thanksgiving.”
It is indeed exciting to see the independent artist go from a graduate of International Law & Diplomacy to launching an independent label (NSE) and pursuing his dreams. Since the release of his first official single, Talk, back in 2017, Minz has consistently introduced his fans to new sounds as he evolved over the years.
The ‘Wowo’ remix has also seen several music artists doling out their versions of the beautiful song, and this goes to show that Minz put out a solid record.
