This is the last monday of January so we can celebrate knowing the 72 days of the month are finally coming to a conclusion. This week, the Radr team is bringing you their favorite songs and books they enjoyed within the past week.
Music
Loud- King Jvmez ft Tomi Obanukoro
This song is a jam filled with good vibes. The track merges traditional rap with Nigerian street music vibes on a sharp snare. The Radr team can assure you that this track will bring out at least one haphazard zanku out of every listener.
’97- Goldkeyz
This whole project from Goldkeyz will make any listener feel like they are floating on a cloud of feathers. The ambient beats are gentle and soothing. The tracks on this project are bound to relax listeners as well as tantalize their eardrums.

The latest Mavin record signee surprised the public with her debut self-titled project Ayra Starr. The first song Away is a great show off of her vocal skills as well as lyrical delivery.
Badman- Tolani
Need a song about making bad romantic decisions? I has just the song for you. The artiste sings about knowing better but still choosing the badman because he makes her senses come alive.
Risky- Elaine
Elaine’s vocals shine brightly on this track. This is another song about being with toxic love interests. This r&b-soul mix perfectly captures the deep emotions of the artiste.
Girlfriend- Sirbastien ft Naya Akanji
Sirbastien and Naya Akanji are a wonderful match on this song. Just in time to add it to your valentine playlists, Sirbastien and Naya release this song perfect for lovebirds.

First Time Mom
This show isn’t out yet but members of the Radr team are definitely excited about it. The creative team behind it which includes Jola Ayeye and Temi and Tamara is bound to create screen magic and we are hype to see it.
Books
Kintu- Jennifer Makumbi
The novel explores the power of curses in African society and the myth and power that surrounds twins. How these can shape a people for centuries. It is a retelling of the birth of the nation of Uganda and the precolonial history that birthed it. It describes how the princes of Buganda fought and killed one another for the throne and the role of the Queen Mothers in a large power play.
Here Comes The Sun- Nicole Dennis-Benn
The story is played out through the eyes of three black women at three different stages of life. Sheltered teenager Thandi, Her older sister Margot and Their mother, Delores. All three have been subject to immeasurable pain due to poverty and desperation.
With an excellent hand, Nicole tells a story of growth, loss, hard choices and even harder circumstances.
