Joseph AYENI popularly known as ManlikeJoe was born & brought up in Nigeria, moved around Kano, Lagos and Anambra when he was younger but Grew up in Lagos listening to Timaya, Mohits, 9ice, Lil Wayne, Jay z, Drake and many more. He had his primary, secondary, and tertiary education in Lagos.
Manlikejoe Started the musical journey at 8 years (primary 4) playing the violin, moved on to the saxophone in my first year of high school, and started recording his own music at 14. Since then he has been working on a stand-out sound and dropped his first 3 song playlist as “Manlikejoe”.
Music for Manlikejoe is like his own universe where he can be expressive and bring art to reality. he does this by using his music to give life to various emotions and ideas. with this universe of his, he has released numerous projects. his talent is expressing versatility of emotions in his style of music, which is a fusion of different genres. gearing up for a new chapter, he unveils his new single titled “games” featuring Niinety9.
manlikejoe’s sound has recently been re-invented to accommodate the mastery of his talent while highlighting his baritone vocals. After a long break, working on his sound and exploring sound engineering, Manlikejoe is ready for a meteoric rise in his career.
This new single paints a picture of uncertainty and vulnerability in 21st-century situationships and relationships. the highlight of the song is the hook: “this one thing go lead to one thing” which samples afrobeats legend, Davido.
“Games” is the lead single off Manlikejoe’s debut ep set to be released in 2023 and it is produced by fast-rising producer, Johnson IP.
