They’re an essential part of all our rocks and motives. With a string of correct selections and mixes, they can trigger a range of emotions from everyone present. The entire mood of a function is at the mercy of their decks. Whether we like to admit or not, the entire world needs DJs.
As the coronavirus continues to hold us hostage, it is well documented that we all miss outside. We miss the nightlife, and nothing is good enough to replicate the feeling of stepping into our venue of choice on a cool Friday night. It feels even worse because some songs just sound better while intoxicated in the midst of your friends.
It sucks that we’re past the period of Instagram live battles.
It feels like such a long time ago already. Luckily for us, we were able to get a glimpse of what we’ve been missing these past few months when a Twitter user took initiative and requested that DJs show us a bit of what they’ve been working on.
Several DJs heeded his call, and the #RonaRiddim hashtag was born. We watched, we listened, and we selected 10 entries that caught our attention. Prepare to catch vibes.
We NEED to hear Wande Coal’s Naughty Girl with alcohol in our system.
It’s when she had her hands on her head for us.
We did NOT expect Amorawa. Serious #RonaRiddim.
Don’t know how she mixed Jam and Drop It Like It’s Hot, but it slaps.
TDR came clutch as per.
This was pretty smooth.
We know you’re bopping your head already.
Starts pretty slow but picks up before long.
All we can say is sheesh!
This is pretty solid too.
