Forever Sweet – DOTTi The Deity
It’s valentine in summer with this beautiful love song. After winning the first edition of the MTN Y’ello Star competition in 2020. DOTTi himself says Forever sweet celebrates love in all forms, from platonic and familial to romantic love. This song was released as part of the build-up to the release of DOTTi’s debut album “May the muses never leave,” later this year.
Want – Niniola
The Queen of Amapiano is back with another up-tempo beat that is sure to get you dancing.
In this song, she’s serious about being with her lover, making sure he is faithful while also telling off those who don’t want them to be together. I stan a focused queen. This well-layered song was produced by Smeez and D3an.
Mr Man – Fave
In January, Fave released her debut EP Riddim 5 which was number one on the charts at the time of its release. Fave is a powerhouse; a master of lyrics and melodies. In this song, she serenades and professes her love for her man. The Visuals for Mr. Man was released four months after the EP and has gone on to do over Three million views.
Watawi – CKay ft Davido, Focalistic & Abidoza
Ckay is no stranger to the limelight. In fact, he has remained there since Love Nwantiti dominated the world in 2020. He is back with Watawi featuring Davido and South African artists Focalistic and Abidoza. They sing about not taking things so seriously and just enjoying the ride. (Pun intended). The vibrant visuals for this song was directed by Dalia Dias.
Sand and Shells – Ignis Brothers
This song about heartbreak almost seems like a happy song. It’s so beautifully descriptive of the feelings of heartbreak. Beyond the exceptional quality of production and the sound of this song, the lyrics are mind-blowing. I’ve never heard anything like it. Released in 2020 as part of the Ignis Brothers’ nine-track debut album, the trio make sure they’re heard. Thank you, Edwin, Ruka and Lamide. Here’s to more beautiful songs about heartbreak.
