Here’s what the team at RADR has been listening to. Mavin’s Crayon, Simi, and Djinee have kept us going this week.
Ijo (Laba Laba) – Crayon
You may remember Crayon’s line “Oroma, Oroma no go downgrade” from the Mavin All-star hit song “overdose”. He is back with Ijo (Laba Laba) produced by Sarz, Mixed and Mastered by Johnny Drille. In this Amapiano track, he tells Uju to dance and turn up the energy. It’s a great start to this week’s Essentials because we are about to get the energy up.
I got it – Ogi
This song is off Ogi’s debut album Monologues. This album which she describes as her audition into the industry has six songs. On Ogi, she lets us know she’s that girl and that nobody is going to cover her shine. She wants us to believe she’s got in and she’ll definitely flaunt it.
Ego- Djinee
This one is for the millennials and the old souls. We grew up listening to this song and collectively asking Ego why she did our boy Djinee like that.Since the release of this song which was produced by music maestro Cobhams, he has gone on to release many more singles with the latest one in May 2021. Djinee has come a long way from this ballad released 18 years ago.
Temper – Simi
This song is off her recently released album “To Be Honest”. In this song, Simi lets us know she’s THAT woman. She’s a big deal and she’s been in the game for a long time. “And nobody fit chance me, Talk to me nice, Mo fancy ju Nancy lo”…
Many Man- Victony
Victony’s Outlaw was a sneak peek into his talent. He doesn’t disappoint in his collaboration with Colors x Studio where he gives a little insight into his journey. He acknowledges that there are higher powers who have his back and that’s pretty reassuring to him.
Location- Slymkrez
Location is a part of one of the 4 tracks off Slymkrez’ New Project, ‘LTTM/DSTM‘ EP. It’s the perfect TGIF song. End up at a location with a person so that they can see through you like an X-ray.
Hennessy – Tumi D
In his latest single, Tumi D sings about the feeling of love. it’s not comparable to anything not even Hennessy. He is addicted and he will do anything to protect the one he loves even when these feelings are not reciprocated.
