Happy International Women’s Day to all the Radr loving women and those all over the world! This amazing day is set aside to celebrate women in every sphere they appear in.
On this week’s Radr essentials we will be paying homage to women. From songs about strong, beautiful women to books by them, this Monday is all about the women we love.
Music
Koroba- Tiwa Savage
”I no come this life to suffer.” A powerful opening to a certified hot girl track. In this song veteran Nigerian musician, Tiwa Savage goes head-on to call out the slut-shaming in the industry as well as reaffirming that she does not deserve to suffer if she can find a way out of it.
Bossy- Wurld ft Kida Kudz & DJ Cuppy
Wurld is a favorite lover boy who likes bossy women and so do we! On this track Wurld sings about his bossy woman (voiced by Cuppy), she orders him around and he loves it. Think about it who wouldn’t want a woman like that?
W.Y.A.N.- Zion Yande
Zion Yande’s amazing vocals should be celebrated on this day. The artiste takes this ballad and infuses so much emotion into it. Listeners taste her anguish as she deals with the fading love between her and her partner. A soulful beautiful song.
Lagbaja- Ogranya
Ogranya wrote this beautiful love song about him putting himself out there in the path of love. From the lyrics we see the artiste has lost everything but this love and he wants to do his best to keep it.
Anita- The Cavemen
From within the cave, a song about a dashing heart-stopper Anita rings out. ”Anita, you go kill-e somebody”. The band sings about Anita and how they are ready to use their next salary to marry her. Listen to it again on Women’s Day.
Movies
Will it be a complete International Women’s Day Celebration without a good movie or two to kickback with? Nope.
That’s why Radr is suggesting these two movies, a comedy and a serious movie for whatever mood hits you today.
Banana Island Ghost
After being given three days to find love after he dies, Patrick is paired with Ijeoma who also has three days to save her father’s Banana Island house from being reclaimed. This movie is full of laughs and fantastic twists!
93 Days
This film follows the true story of the ebola outbreak in Nigeria. The film follows the Doctors, Nurses, and other medical personnel who put their lives on the line so that the country could be saved from a debilitating health crisis. Led by Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh, the medical team does everything to protect Lagos and the rest of Nigeria from this deadly virus.
