In the first edition of this remarkable series, We present the Ghanaian-Dutch singer and songwriter “Nana Fofie.” She name-drops Nicki Minaj, Tiwa Savage, and Teyana Taylor as her greatest inspiration. Following the recent announcements of her being signed to Rap Queen Nicki Minaj’s record label alongside “Tate Kobang, Rico Danna, and London Hill.” Nicki Minaj is a female rap maestro known for her rhythmic puns and catchy lyrics. Nicki Minaj, one of the successful females in a male-dominated scene, has often complained of the lack of a female presence to look up to at the onset of her career. After experiencing the difficulties, the first female record label and signing the Dutch-Ghanaian  Rnb singer is a step in the right direction.

Nana  Fofie has risen to the limelight and the probing question on the lips of many. To begin with, Who is Nana Fofie?

Nana Fofie must feel like the luckiest person in the world, and this is for many reasons. Firstly, she has a twin who is surprisingly three years older than her. Sisterhood is an unmatched gift.

Fofie’s present reality must feel like a Disney folklore play-out. She is the last child of her family of 7. However, she and her sister were born on the same day with a 3- years gap. Secondly, Her announcement came in during March, dedicated to the celebration of women and the Independence celebration of her home country Ghana. If no one has anything worth celebrating, it can’t be Nana. These past few days, she has seen her dreams come to life and her hard work rewarded and recognized internationally.

Before the recent news of her close partnership with Nicki Minaj, Nana has been excelling at delivering her projects. In addition, she singlehandedly gained a massive following through the captivating mashup and dynamic tracks.

For many, they discovered  Nana through her mash-up series. The mash-up phase was a sight to behold; listening to one would propel you to the other. From the Mad over you mashup to Assurance, then Fall, Peru, and securing a feature from “Jaywillz on the track “When I See You.”Last year she bagged the Best Ghanian European Song Of the Year award at the Ghanian Music Awards in 2022.

Away from covering viral hit tracks by various artists. Nana’s discography is characterized by her beautiful and capturing vocals and carefully thought-out emotive lyrics. For instance, she makes music that appeals to the soul , and meets the needs of the ears. Nana Fofie is the complete package deal, beautiful face card, sublime mesmerizing vocals, and antecedent lyrics. The only way you are coming close to experiencing anything like this would probably be on an out-of-space trip.

Opening the curtains on 2023 and other mind-blowing opportunities and experiences to follow in the year. She released her first track of the year titled “Selling dreams.

Nana Fofie presents her divine and sensual melodic energy again, retaining the traditional core sounds fused with Rnb elements. On the track  Selling dreams,” she sonically portrays a heartbroken tale in the clearly illustrated lyrics. “ I am stuck in denial and have been looking for ways to ignore it.”

The chorus: “You have been selling dreams takes a low sensual tempo.

To clarify, It hits deep, and a part of you instantly resonates with the feelings she seeks to express. However, we all experience it differently. It’s the familiar tale of a complicated love relationship. The melody solace it brings allows one to groove for a long; you have to put this on repeat.

If you think you heard the best of this song, you should listen to the live session with EAN Music. Everything makes it an ethereal experience, and this version sounds like the heavenly hymns of the Gods. The piano is playing in the background, and her voice and the backup singers play their part a bit too well by harmonizing with Nana without taking her spotlight.

She re-dishes the same songs in an entirely different manner, it’s slower, and you can imagine yourself as an audience to which it is played. Nana Fofie transcends from being a good songwriter and singer with a fantastic voice to a performer. For this reason, consider including attending a Nana Fofie concert in your bucket list of activities to experience before the year runs out; hopefully, Nana Fofie has this in her plans.

Evidently, the Gold Cost is acquiring an excellent piece of the pie, and it’s more blissful to see Nana  Fofie as one of the frontiers of this movement on mainstream acclaim.

Undoubtedly,Nana Fofie presents herself as up to the task. She proudly wears her distinctive individuality and personality, doing things her way without conforming to pressure. For this reason, we stan a queen true to her roots and amplifying her sound to signify that she represents.
