When Wurld released his AfroSoul project in May earlier this year, he was just showing off. The formerly Atlanta based singer and songwriter brought his A game to the writing board to create this work.
Now barely six months after, the artiste releases a deluxe version of AfroSoul. Featuring two brand new tracks with the same stellar level of creative workmanship and concept and sound production.
Before Wurld released his AfroSoul project, he tantalized listeners and fans worldwide with his EP, I Love Girls With Trobul which he made with superstar producer Sarz. Upon the release of AfroSoul, it was immediately clear that Wurld is constantly refining and improving his craft. AfroSoul explored different expressions of the ways afrobeats could be fused and blurred with other genres.
Neither his exploration of the genre nor his refinement are missing on this deluxe version of AfroSoul. He adds BOSSY featuring Kida Kudz and a bossy-voiced Dj Cuppy. On this song, the artiste sings about his authoritative love interest and how he likes that. Kida Kudz drops a reggae-dancehall influenced verse that blends perfectly with the energy of the track.
On CHOP ’N’ PRAY, Wurld shows off his vocals and composition. The song incorporates popular slangs to express how loyal he is to his love interest. The hook is catchy and yet sensual. This is the song to dance to in a crowded bar when Corona decides to go away.
Wurld’s attempt to improve on what is deemed an already well-rounded project is a raging success and you should give it a listen.
