This week, the team at RADR is listening to the girlies: Tems, Tiwa Savage, Waje and the Guys: Burna Boy, and Dave
Location – Dave ft Burna Boy
Location was the summer 2019 anthem and British rap remains undefeated up till now. It’s off Dave’s 2019 album Psychodrama. You can tell that the girls still love this song because the video has over 150 million views since its release.
For my Hand – Burna Boy ft Ed Sheeran
It’s only been a couple of weeks since Burna Boy released his latest album ‘Love, Damini’.
For my hand is a personal fav of his album. Ed Sheeran who is no stranger to the Afrobeats sound sings beautifully in this song. They sing about this girl who they want to dance with and hold forever because she takes them for who they are.
Knee down – Falz ft Chike
Falz and Chike made Magic on this song. Apart from the fact that it’s a beautiful song, Knee Down has 2 videos; A short film and a music video, and a viral challenge on Tik-Tok. They sing about a relationship that was rosy that has now turned sour.
All day – Waje, Tiwa Savage
Waje and Tiwa team up to deliver this dancehall hit. It’s the collaboration we all didn’t know we needed. Taken off Waje’s latest album WAJE 2.0. The 11-track album, is a follow-up to her 2018 album “Red Velvet” and includes features by Tiwa Savage, Falz, Masterkraft, Imi Lawz, and Emmyblaq.
Try Me- Tems
Tems is global now and we love it for her. It’s like we watched our girl blow right before our eyes. So, it makes sense that we’re listening to the old but gold try me that set her on the path for the stardom she has today.
Wait for Me – Johnny Drille
Five years ago, Johnny won us all over with this beautiful love ballad. He has since had our hearts in his palm and has gone on to give us more beautiful music and an album. He sings to his lover, telling her he’ll be gone but she will always be on his mind. He wants her to wait for him no matter how long it takes.
