With every week that passes by, 2020 rounds down to a close. The best part about this is that our fave artistes are not letting up on putting out great music to get us through the rest of the year. Here is this week’s round up of the bountiful music harvest of last week.
No Stress- Wizkid
The original Starboy hit the ground running with this single he teased off his highly anticipated project “Made In Lagos”. As usual, Wizkid brought his talent and acumen for making very catchy songs to the instant No Stress. Wizkid sings about an independent woman who needs love on this sensual afropop record.
Damages- Tems
Tems and her unique voice bring this track alive. The song is about moving on from a damaging relationship and deciding not to go back. The lyrics and vocals are steeped in emotion yet are delivered on a platter of an afro-dancehall beat.
No Longer Beneficial- Simi
Established fave and hit song maker, Simi, brings the most sultry vibes on this track. Opposite to her usual love songs big on romance and settling, No Longer Beneficial is the exact opposite. It’s a song about not wanting to commit to something serious and to keep it light. Now, we all know this is not a reflection of her marriage to Adekunle Gold, but this switch up makes one very interested in the direction Simi will take on her new project. The single is a teaser off her upcoming ep, Restless II.
Overdose(Remix)- Dunnie ft Oxlade
Singer, songwriter and producer, Dunnie, returns to the music scene with this hot single featuring one of Nigeria’s favorite music lover boys, Oxlade. The duo belt out this afropop love song which is a remix of the lead track of her earlier project, FOUR, which dropped earlier in May.
Feels- Olú
Olú’s ep, is a seductive listen. Her bold vocals are reminiscent of Benjamin Clementine with a solid bass and feathery piano sounds. The songs are a soft, ambient cross between jazz, blues and neo-soul. You can listen to the ep here.
Shower Me- Lola Rae
Lola Rae dazzles in this raunchy song telling her love interest to shower her with money. The lyrics, a dancehall blend of english and yoruba, Lola Rae’s shower me is a fusion of street music and soft pop. All in all a pleasurable listen.
Visuals of the week
This week, we’ll also be showing you some of the hot music videos that dropped this week!

Lola Rae’s video is true to the message of her song. She wants to be showered with money in the video there is a constant drizzle of money rain in every other shot. The sexy video is accentuated with the beautiful women who are a part of the dance choreography.
Abracadabra- Boj, Davido & Mr Eazi
Accompanying visuals for the song that dropped about a month ago, Boj weaves a spell over this love interest so she can return his affections. The video doesn’t take itself too seriously with its quirky editing, fun makeup, bright colors and props.

This beautifully shot alté song features hazy images, graffiti and other alte props. Aylø’s super soft vocals blend perfectly with this video and its aesthetics.
