Dunnie is a Nigerian Indie songwriter, singer, and producer. She debuted her first single “E go better” in 2012 and since then has been carving an independent niche for herself in the Nigerian music industry.
Dunnie went solo in 2014 to work on her craft and has been persistently creative since the release of her debut body of work, “Seven” the EP in 2018. A triple threat of talent, Dunnie has been able to work with established names in the industry like Ric Hassani, featuring him on a song on her debut EP.
Her efforts and talent have been recognized by large brands and multinational companies as seen with her work with Nestle for the creation of the “Maggi Signature” commercial and more recently, an international ad deal to produce music for the latest ad installment of popular brand, CÎROC.
As a follow-up to the release of her recent E.P, FOUR, Afro-fusion singer, Dunnie is back to make an impression with her new single featuring rising Nigerian music favorite Oxlade. Dunnie announced the impending music launch with the release of beautiful, sultry photos by the talented Kiki Melissa of Kiki Melissa Studios.
The newly released track, Overdose Remix is Dunnie’s second stand-alone release this year and serves as a sequel to the lead track off the FOUR E.P, Overdose which was released in May earlier this year.
Overdose (remix) features Oxlade, another rising star and budding favorite in the Afro-fusion genre. The track opens with Dunnie’s steady, soft vocals singing the catchy lyrics of the song.
Oxlade adds another layer of intensity to the track with his own vocals, his voice complementing Dunnie’s vocals as they sing the chorus in a duet.
The song merges the sensual strains of a love song with the fast dancehall tune rooted in afrobeats to create a track that will make any listener bust moves. This fast paced love song is beautifully delivered with beautiful, sensual, smooth vocals and excellent intrumentals.
