High Tension 2.0: Bella Shmurda Takes The Kid Gloves Off!

Bella Shmurda has been the artiste to watch since 2019. The hip-hop artiste and songwriter came into the spotlight properly in 2019 after featuring the famous dancer Poco Lee and industry giant, Olamide in a remix of his song, Vision 2020. Since that time, he has released several hit songs including Cash App and several collaborations with other artists like Dangbana Republik and Masterkraft.

After winning the Next Rated Award at the Headies and coming into his own, Bella Shmurda has dropped his latest body of work, High Tension 2.0, a sequel to his ep of 2020, High Tension. The project promises to be a different facet of the artiste ao follow Radr on the journey of the undulating waves of this project.

Out There

This project opener is different from Bella Shmurda’s usual upbeat, party bangers. On this sedately paced track Bella Shmurda sings, “I know It’s crazy out there”. He recalls the hardships and pressures he faced before the fame and this song is like a word of encouragement to those still in the grinding phase. He warns against vices while still encouraging listeners to share what they have with those who don’t have as much as they do. 

World

An earlier release, Bella Shmurda takes a philosophical stance on this song about society through his eyes. He points out the increasing decadence of the world at large while reaffirming his own sense of identity with the lyrics “If I ever run from the world, I can never run from myself.”

Soldier Go

This is a love song from Bella Shmurda to his love interest produced by Fancy Beatz This track is a little more upbeat that the preceding two. He sings, “Soldier go, soldier come, If I go, I go come back.’ Meaning that no matter where or how far he goes, he will surely come back to the one he loves.

Far Away

In a different spin on the love trope, Bella Shmurda is not asking a girl to come over to his place so he can take care of her, instead he’s asking her to take him away from here. He’s asking her to make him happy and give him deeper emotions. The energy of the track is soft but upbeat and listeners are sure to love it, even Bella Shmurda mentions this is one of his favorite tracks from this project.

Lako has more of a street vibe. On this track, Bella Shmurda goes on a different tangent with this raunchy track where he sings about wanting to do sexual activities with his love interest.

When asked about the song Bella Shmurda said he’s trying to be as blunt as possible while expressing himself and the song carries the same energy.

This is another song with a lesson embedded in it. Bella Shmurda uses this song as a way to charge young people like himself to be more patient. The world is fast paced but Bella Shmurda wants to not only get there fast, he wants to make sure he’s not distracted by seemingly better but flimsy things. This upbeat song has an addictive hook that will keep listeners’ heads bobbing to the beat. Bella shares that it took him more than two weeks to record this song because he wanted to get the message exactly right, if that’s not patience, what is?

On this track, Bella Shmurda sings about losing himself in a party from dusk till dawn. He believes there is no right time and instead, on this high energy afrobeats instrumental, he creates a vibe all on its own.
