November is finally over and it is time to start prepping for December, christmas and family. Best of all, it’s the perfect time of the year to vibe to and appreciate great music. This week, we’re bringing you the hottest new tracks on the block so you can properly prepare your ears for the new month with Tim Lyre, Oma Mahmud and many more.
People Dey- Reekado Banks ft Mr Eazi
Fresh off his ep, Off The Record, Reekado Banks crafts this fun carefree song with talented artiste, Mr Eazi. On this song, he tackles betrayal and people who try to hurt you while showing a friendly face. Mr Eazi goes hard on his verse as well, adding that unique spark that only he can bring to a track. The song is upbeat and a fun listen that listeners will enjoy.
Jo- Teni
Teni has been quiet for a while on the music scene. She bursts back on the scene in perfect form, not missing a beat. Jo is a very catchy, enjoyable song in regular Teni fashion. She sounds like she had a lot of fun creating this track and her enjoyment is infectious as listeners will also enjoy dancing to it.
Mystery Girl- Johnny Drille
Johnny Drille is more intense on this new love song he released last week. Intended as a single from his upcoming debut album, this track sees the artiste increasing interest in a mysterious love interest of his. The hook is catchy and the song of course has stellar vocals that really brings the whole project together.
Bounce Riddim- Yomi Ace
Aptly named, Yomi Ace drops a track that will make listeners bounce. The infectious beat will have listeners dancing before they even realise it. The saxophone in the background effortlessly complements the electric guitar and muted ad libs in the foreground making this track as enjoyable as it is catchy.
Brokoto- Jaido P
This track is heavily influenced by street afrobeats music. The track is reminiscent of the music style popularized by Nigerian Artiste Naira Marley. The simple rhyme in the hook and the crisp drums make it the catchy song it was made to be.
Kilofeshe- Zinoleesky
A quintessential afrobeats song with street music influences and interestingly paced, Zinoleesky crafts a truly enjoyable track. This song will be a great pick me up for listeners with its catchy tune and self hype lyrics.
Rewind- Tim Lyre ft JVSH
This song is soft and ambient sounding with reggae dancehall influences. The song has a sensual feel that will leave listeners with whining waists as the hook of the song suggests. A pleasing, relaxing listen.
Now!!!- Oma Mahmud
This rock song by Oma Mahmud is intense and interesting. The start of the song is reminiscent of Fela in the 70s and 80s. This track is critical of the injustices of the government and the artist demands for his justice, right now. The song also shows off some impressive guitar riffs, ending on a strong note. The track is an enjoyable listen that highlights the political climate of the time while pleasing the ears of listeners with a well made record.
